God Brings Outsiders into His Household

In this sermon on Matthew 15:21–28, we explore one of Scripture’s most striking accounts of faith: the Canaanite woman who approaches Jesus across cultural, religious, and historical boundaries. Though she begins as an outsider, Christ draws her in, strengthens her faith, and grants her the full rights of a child in His household.

This message walks through the text in its narrative and historical context. It starts at Jesus’ withdrawal into Gentile territory, to the woman’s bold confession, to the disciples’ confusion, and finally to Christ’s commendation of her great faith. Along the way, we see how God still works through His Word, His people, and even obstacles to bring outsiders into His family.
