Jesus Did Not Come to Call the Righteous, but Sinners

Jesus doesn’t wait for people to clean up their lives before He calls them. In Matthew’s story, we see a Savior who walks straight into the mess, seeks out the outcast, and brings healing to sinners who know they need Him. This sermon explores Christ’s mercy, the danger of Pharisee‑thinking, and the deep healing only the Great Physician can give — the healing of a wounded conscience, a broken past, and a heart that cannot fix itself. Jesus came not for the righteous, but for sinners — people like Matthew, and people like us.
