You Are in God’s Unique Vineyard
In this sermon on Matthew 21:33-43, we explore Jesus’ parable of the tenants spoken on Tuesday of Holy Week. We see how God Himself plants, protects, and provides for His vineyard. Christ is the cornerstone the builders rejected, and the entire foundation of God’s kingdom rests on His perfect obedience, His atoning death, and His victorious resurrection. God does all the work to save, sustain, and guard His people, placing them securely in His vineyard through His Word and Spirit.
Because God has planted a new person in the believer, His vineyard produces unique fruit: faith, repentance, and a life shaped by Christ’s mercy. The sinful nature clings to work‑righteousness, but the Spirit‑worked new person clings to Christ alone and wrestles against sin with a changed heart and mind. Engrafted to Christ, believers bear fruit that flows naturally from faith, hearing God’s Word in its truth and purity, sharing His forgiveness, and reflecting His grace. God’s vineyard is unique in its foundation, its provision, and its fruit, all rooted in the saving work of Jesus Christ.
